Really appreciate thinking about the parks through an honest, inclusive historical lens. Bummed to see lots of people missing the point and reacting so very defensively to the content. I am a white person and I recognize the privilege that shapes my experiences; I travel the parks with my husband who is a POC and have learned much from his experiences navigating the complex issues examined in this podcast and how they contribute to his experiences of these beautiful lands and country. Some of us have the ‘pleasure’ of never having to think about the context of the environments we are navigating, but some of us don’t. We should all challenge ourselves to learn through the lenses of others experiences and perspectives navigating a world that is a very different place depending upon race/ethnicity. Also, our complex and painful history shapes us all whether we acknowledge it or not. The reviews alone demonstrate this.

But I...Read full review »
