Description
Here's the deal on how addictions disrupt our peace. This week on the podcast, we talked about idols and addictions in our lives. How when we are choosing things of the world that let us fall into sin, we become slaves to those sins. No one is ever a lost cause for the Lord to work in their life. God wants us to lean and depend on Him, to experience His ultimate peace.
Bible Verses Mentioned:
John 8:34 - "Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin."
1 Corinthians 10:14 - "Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry."
1 Corinthians 1:3-4 - "Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:13 - "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Luke 15:8 - 10 - "Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
Isaiah 55:7 - "Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon."
Isaiah 55:12 - "For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands."
1 John 2:15-17 - "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever."
1 Corinthians 6:11-12 - "And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."
1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 - "For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him."
