Once an attendant in Akbar’s court broke one of Akbar’s favorite flower vase and when he was questioned, the servant lied thinking that Akbar will punish him since it was his favorite vase. But the truth was found out and the servant was expelled from Akbar’s court because of the lie. Birbal, on the other hand, tried to explain the general human tendency of lying which is always not just to cover up flaws or bad deeds but sometimes human beings lie not to break the other person’s heart. Unable to understand Birbal’s philosophy, even he was asked to leave the court by Akbar.
