Truly dreadful
This made my ears bleed. I was hoping to learn something about Catherine the Great but when they (finally!) broached the subject (after an interminable self-indulgent introduction) I realised I knew more than the host (or whichever of them wrote the ‘script’) and I don’t know that much. For a start, I know her NAME, but that’s the first thing they struggled with. The hosts labour under the impression that they are hilariously funny, but ‘labour’ is the operative word. If I wanted to listen to people talking nonsense about a subject they have less than a passing acquaintance with, I’d go to the pub. In fact that’s exactly what I did after about the fourth or fifth “fact” (that a casual glance at Wikipedia would confirm as erroneous), and I had a much better time.

I really wanted to like this as the topics are interesting, but basically it's just people reading stuff... and rehashing info that is easily available. I was hoping for insight.Read full review »
