Coping with Cancer during Pregnancy #143
Listen now
Description
The girls were joined by the amazing Seanagh Rice from Dancity Ireland this week. She told her story of being diagnosed with breast cancer while 26 weeks pregnant. The girls heard how she coped with the diagnosis and how the pregnancy impacted her treatment, including by reducing her options for pain relief after surgery to simply paracetamol. Seanagh underwent a mastectomy, c-section and chemotherapy all within a few weeks of each other - A huge toll for anyone. She opened up about how the experience affected her both physically and mentally. Seanagh's cancer was thankfully caught while still manageable and demonstrates the importance of breast checks and regular screenings.
