Great potential but they blew it.
I was excited to hear about a fictional podcast from Gimlet. But this completely misses the mark. It jumps around between the past, present, and points in between; without any indication of where we are. This makes it much too hard to follow. The actors are great, but they need to get new writers. I quit listening 3/4 of the way into the first episode and unsubscribed.

The first episode was the audio equivalent of seeing a fantastic tv show pilot and being relieved and excited that it was only episode one, and you get to watch/hear so much more of the story.
