Description
This week on Homeopathy for Mommies, Sue Meyer shares First Aid tips for Ischemic and Hemorrhagic Strokes. What is a Stroke? Stroke is a brain attack. It occurs when blood vessels in the brain, called arteries, are blocked or burst. (Apoplexy) The consequences of stroke can be long-term disability and even death. Types of stroke Ischemic stroke – occurs when blood flow through an artery is blocked, which accounts for 87% of all strokes. Hemorrhagic stroke (Apoplexy) – occurs when an artery is ruptured, causing swelling, pressure, and damage to the brain. Signs and symptoms of stroke include: • Trouble speaking and understanding what others are saying. You may experience confusion, slur words or have difficulty understanding speech. • Paralysis or numbness of the face, arm or leg. You may develop sudden numbness, weakness or paralysis in the face, arm or leg. This often affects just one side of the body. Try to raise both your arms over your head at the same time. If one arm begins to fall, you may be having a stroke. Also, one side of your mouth may droop when you try to smile. • Problems seeing in one or both eyes. You may suddenly have blurred or blackened vision in one or both eyes, or you may see double. • Headache. A sudden, severe headache, which may be accompanied by vomiting, dizziness or altered consciousness, may indicate that you're having a stroke. • Trouble walking. You may stumble or lose your balance. You may also have sudden dizziness or a loss of coordination Think "FAST" and do the following: • Face. Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop? • Arms. Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward? Or is one arm unable to rise? • Speech. Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is his or her speech slurred or strange? • Time. If you observe any of these signs, call 911 or emergency medical help immediately. Remedies to consider: Arnica -always the first choice for any type of head injury or stroke / apoplexy. Natrum Sulphuricum- Following Arnica- if there are consequences like Vertigo, concussion, convulsions, headache, dullness, madness, sadness, suicidal thoughts, memory loss, or change of personality then we're always going to be looking at Nat sulph. Belladonna Cicuta virosa Cuprum Hypericum Gelsemium Rhus tox See full descriptions and rubrics in the Members Corner Handout - you can join here: https://members.homeopathyformommies.com/invite References: First Aid with Homeopathy by Dr. Manuel Mateu Ratera (link: https://amzn.to/3qXoWLo ) StrokeAwareness.com SimplyHealth.com The content of the Homeopathy for Mommies Radio post or page, including text, graphics, images, or information contained in text or audio, or other content, is offered on an informational basis only.
