Mixed Feelings
I’ve been on the hunt for a Muslim woman podcast I can relate to and this one seemed promising from the existing reviews but unfortunately it just didn’t resonate with me. I listened to seven episodes but felt the tone was very heavy and serious. Of course I appreciate that some of the matters the sisters are talking about are serious at hand but I would finish episodes feeling the opposite of uplifted. I also didn’t always feel satisfied with the discussion of things from an Islamic standpoint, but again this may be because the earlier episodes were more focused on their own life experiences than speaking directly about Islam. However, I can definitely see why this may appeal to some and it may be a case of me being in a different place in my life to these sisters (early 20s, unmarried, still figuring my career out). I may retry it one day but unfortunately it’s not something I feel compelled to spend more time listening to now.

I listened to an older episode today & I was instantly hooked. I appreciate the vulnerability of the host & I’m looking forward to listening to more episodes.

I never realized how important it is to self-love. Allah is my Creator and I am his creation. I need to love myself to have proper faith in Him and I would have never known that without this podcast. Thank you and JazakAllah Khayran, Ya Akhawat.
