Amy and Mary bring a sort-of irreverence to climate that I think is SO lacking right now. There can be such a high barrier to entry for regular journalists and people who are not in media that “the environment” easily seems like such an ivory tower concept. As a result, it often falls to the wayside. But Amy and Mary, who together have a WEALTH of expertise on the subject, speak to each other and with their guests in such a way that massively lowers the barrier to entry. They laugh at the absurdity of company towns and getting blocked by fossil fuel companies on Twitter while also giving the important narrative that climate impacts literally every aspect of our daily lives — and even more for people of color, people who are low income, etc.
