One of my favorite comics podcasts.
House to Astonish is a fun, classy and THOROUGH comics podcast. Al and Paul do a their podcast in three parts, and each part is great. There news coverage is extensive and filled with opinions and insights which I always feel good for having heard. There comics reviews really get me interested in trying out the comics they like, which is pretty rare for me and reviews. They really manage to talk a lot about what the comics are like and usually make the sorts of comparisons that really allow me to find my way into why I might want to read a comic. Then they end each session with a fun little nonsense feature called The Official Handbook of the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe. Its pretty fun, some of them are a little weak, but most of them are total hoots, When I first discovered this cast, I think i listened to their entire backlog over the course of a week and a half, I couldnt stop. I do wish the cast came out a bit more regularly, but whenever an ep comes out its an absolute treat

I could spend hours listening to Paul and Al go on about comics, and have. Interesting insights, invaluable knowledge, and mostly-polite criticisms—they’re not afraid to scrape their knuckles—can be found in each entertaining episode. What they say always comes from a place of knowing. Respect....Read full review »
