“So far, everything about this show has been disappointing. The hosts knowledge and opinions of video games seem to be stuck in the era of early 2000’s gaming culture. One of the hosts literally cannot understand why people think scary games are scary. The guests have been a real mixed bag with highs(Adam Conover is a good sport) and extreme lows(Betsy Sodaro, who has never played a visual novel game, complaining about Hatoful Boyrfriend, a game specifically made to subvert visual novel games). Nothing of substance or anything new is said about the games they talk about. Anyone who would seek out a video game podcast already knows that Sonic 06 and Superman 64 are bad, so what audience they’re trying to reach is a mystery. The bulk of every episode is people saying “Bad game is bad” without any depth on game design philosophy or insight into the games they discuss.”
