“I’m really disappointed, angry even, that two of the most powerful and insightful commentators on the Left utterly failed to take down Mike Lawler for the hypocrite that he is when he was sitting there blaming the democrats for “joining” with the right-wing snarling jackal caucus in taking down McCarthy. I kept shouting at Claire: “Ask him the question, ask him the QUESTION!” What is the question? Simple: “So, Congressman Lawler, given the same, or similar, circumstances facing a Democratic Speaker, would you have been willing to break with your party to save him/her?” I’d love to hear him try to weasel out of that one. (Of course he wouldn’t…don’t kid yourself!)
Also, it’s enormously frustrating to have no easy way to comment on individual episodes in a place where the principles will see them, except for the general review section—where they probably won’t. Don’t you care what we have to say?”
