Happy two year anniversary and International Women’s Day!
Growing up in Soviet Union Social Studies has been my least favorite subject. I had a feeling that there was a bias to our history books, but I also found it terribly boring. It was missing human element, some kind of relatable traits that drew me to fiction. Now that my daughter dislikes Social Studies I try to arm myself with interesting stories that I can share with her to make Social Studies, well, interesting. I am extremely grateful that I found this podcast. It presents bite-size bits of history that are pretty hysterical with healthy dose of banter. I listen to the podcast and knit during my commute, giggling out loud at times. But I commute on the train in NYC, so I am not even close to being weird by NYC standards. And at home I casually share facts that I learned with my kid. At school they are almost up to Andrew Jackson and I can’t wait. My favorite episode so far is the Principality of Sealand, but there are still some back episodes I’m saving for a rainy day. Let’s start a petition to rename lambs because sheeplets is clearly so much better!

Just listened to my first Hysterical History podcast Nazis and Drugs. It was very informative but I’d have to rewind every now and then because they would say something snarky, and I’d start cracking up! If you love history and have a dry sense of humor, subscribe to this podcast!
