Breath of fresh air
This podcast has accompanied me on all of my walks and runs for the past couple of weeks. I'd been following the instagram account for a while already (which you should totally check out if you haven't) and finally made some time to actually listen to the podcast. And I am so very happy I did. The super wide variety of guests, from cyclists, to people steeped in the service aspect of Specialty coffee, to people who just make coffee a really intense hobby at home make each show an entirely new listening experience. I worked as a barista for years and have since made coffee my primary hobby like many of the guests on the show. As someone who has devoted a lot of time to understanding coffee, two things consistently surprise me about every episode. 1. I learn something new in every episode. Even in the episodes where they discuss the more basic aspects of brewing coffee, Alex and his guest somehow always create some synergistic gems of coffee and life wisdom. I really appreciate that. Be on the lookout for them. 2. There can be a lot of univitingness (not a real word...) and pretention in Specialty Coffee. That never rears it's head here. Alex, Stacy, and all of the guests are simply people who really care to better their lives through the simplicity of really great coffee and don't get distracted by all of the weird pride and mis-placed condescending energy that sometimes comes through at even the best coffee shops. Bottom line: this show is FUN to listen to. It's a learning experience and almost a social one - all of the guests are so genuine and interesting to hear from. Little shout out to Alex - your interviewing was never bad, but your dry humor and interviewing style has developed so much in 14 short episodes. I really appreciate the growth. Love how you guys are producing this with no frills. I've always thought that coffee is best with great people and great conversation and this podcast only proves that. Keep up the awesome work guys. Can't wait for episode 15!

I’m a little biased because I was a guest on this show but that being said I was a fan of the podcast before that and it has lots of information, good production and audio AND it’s brief! A lot of podcasts I listen to run over an hour and it’s just way too much to consistently listen to, so I...Read full review »

This is my favorite after-work listen (while brewing a cup of coffee, of course). I have learned more about coffee than I ever thought possible through just the first 10 episodes of this podcast--all presented through engaging, down-to-earth conversations between normal, nice people who just...Read full review »
