“As a current director who is finally embracing his first love of acting, I feel like a much younger man when I listen to Milton Justice’s “I Don’t Need an Acting Class”. As the episodes play out, I find myself soaking in each and every word. In many cases, I am right back in the acting classes of my youth; it is SO REFRESHING to feel like I’m back into a community of artists who understand the craft I love so much. Milton not only understands the craft expertly, he’s a joy to listen to. If you are an actor at ANY stage of your development, I highly recommend this podcast.
The Artist’s Mind
The artist’s mind wanders...it skips along in joyful rhythm; at once it dives so deep, exploring it’s subject...inquisitive and spontaneous.
The outside world asks if they are daydreaming, stalling, lazy, unfocused...and all the artist hears is the pain of those judgements.
The artist is none of those things; could be none of those things.
They are too busy creating, dreaming, doing, loving and learning. They are completely unaware of the simple life; to them the outside world moves at a dreadfully slow, melancholy pace.
They are passionate consumers of life, and see it for all it’s joyous color and spectacle.
The Artist’s Mind never sleeps....”
