Robert Tremblay was diagnosed terminal and went in and out of consciousness, while traditional treatments destroyed his immune system, bringing on additional diseases. His doctors told him he was as sick as a human could possibly be, and he was sent to hospice. He was at the very doorway of death in both mind and body when he had his NDE, but touching his deceased grandfather's face began the healing he needed to complete his life's goals.
