I discovered this podcast during the lockdown when I was searching to hear discussions about obscure R&B albums (Deniece Williams brought me here. Thank you for that!) I’ve been an avid listener since then. And what a great show I stumbled on! Just like the great surprising albums that were discussed in this podcast, the show was a surprising breath of fresh air, as music enthusiasts/podcasters can be generally obnoxious, dismissive, elitist & frustratingly shallow. The 3 gentlemen who run this show on the other hand, have exuded a lot of compassion, childlike curiosity, insight, depth, warmth, empathy, fun, open mindedness, a great deal of emotional intelligence & cultural sensitivity, not to mention great sense of humor & have shown good chemistry & grace to the guest speakers even if some were nervous to come to the show. Basically all the qualities that should be employed when a group of people engage in music conversations. My only gripe is the short length of those episodes because I don’t want any of these conversations to end. I have discovered so many great albums & revisited old ones that I forgot or somehow dismissed thanks to this show. Salute, gentlemen! May you never lose the joy of curiosity & the love for music. Cheers!
