“The premise -mixing witches and true crime and themes of racism and classism- had so much potential. But the characters have no personality apart from their racial stereotypes and the plot is thin at best. Influencers are vapid, white women are basic, and other un-nuanced troupes. A real missed opportunity - this story could have used metaphor instead of preaching and it would have been way more effective. Ultimately, it feels like it’s trying to guilt you into believing it’s good. The problem is entirely with the writing; the performances were pretty good.”
