“Seasons 1-4 are entertaining and easy to listen to, albeit simple with linear plot lines and straightforward character development.
Season 5 is quite frankly a mediocre, sappy love story with multiple “damsel in distress” anti-feminists plot lines that rely on outdated tropes of heterosexual romance, embarrassing and poorly executed erotica, topped off by undeveloped characters who have awkward fake American accents (although the narrators have lovely natural British accents when voicing an American character’s internal monologue… very jarring). It is predictable, boring and seems made for pre-pubescent teenagers. I am shocked this made its way through production and was released to the public. This does not nearly meet the standard I expect from Realm, a leading fiction podcast channel.”
