“I gave it a chance because I like Gabby, but I won’t be listening past episode one.
None of these characters sound real. They’re all caricatures of what someone thinks other people sound like. It’s like the author hasn’t actually interacted with real people and chooses to absorb what people say on social media as real life, real dialogue, or factual circumstances.
Most of the first episode just echos basic talking points you see on Twitter, with racial stereotypes of both poc and white people, as well as making the protagonist sound like a raging, self interested, brat.
It’s lazy writing. I hope the author gets better.”
