As the Pastor of Hobart’s Risdon prison, Norm is dedicated to ensuring inmates are given the opportunity to maintain or rebuild relationships with their families. He believes it’s an integral part of rehabilitation and redemption. He’s also great fun, and a wonderful storyteller.

Martin Flanagan is our final guest for this first series of our podcast. Journalist, writer and proud Tasmanian, Martin has been embedded with Igniting Change for the past 12 months, and now he’s writing about what he has learned.

Steph Exton is a woman of many talents, and one of the greatest of these is her ability to identify an organisation that’s just the right fit for Igniting Change to walk alongside. This is not a job just anyone can do, which makes Steph an integral part of the Igniting Change team.

Our guest in episode 7 is Jane Vadiveloo, who runs Children's Ground - a charity working in the Northern Territory with First Nations families to realise their dreams for the next generation of children. It’s an ambitious and highly rewarding 25 year project in which Igniting Change has been involved since its inception.

Igniting Change second-in-charge Jayde features in Episode 5. She is a remarkable young woman who has turned her life around, and in turn has positively affected all those with whom she has come into contact.

Episode 4 features Anne Hooker, the youth development officer at Melbourne’s Port Phillip Prison’s Penhyn Unit. A fierce advocate for the young men she works with, Anne’s vision for the youth unit has been lauded locally and internationally.

For 20 years Jane Rowe has quietly and determinedly strived to give a childhood to children who have been orphaned or abandoned through illicit drug use. Her organisation, Mirabel, does extraordinary work with very little funding. Grandparents and kinship carers consider her an angel. We do too.

Episode two features Mariam Issa, a Somalian refugee whose struggle to gain a foothold in this land was aided by Igniting Change, who supported her dream of a healing garden in her backyard, and building a community of strong, empowered women.
