We’ve all heard of birthing dula’s; professionals who assist women who reject the dogma of conventional medicine and birth their children at home during a ceremony. Well Death Dula’s are at the opposite end of the spectrum; they prepare the terminally ill and their families for the inevitable. And their goal is to provide a safe space for patients and their families to feel as comfortable about the process of transition as possible.  Death is unavoidable; it happens to the best of us.
