Episode 8 - The most powerful man in the world (Part 2)
Listen now
Description
In Part 2 - we look at the Inflation Reduction Bill again - now it has passed the Senate vote. What it means for climate change and faith in politics. We also discuss the influence of Joe Manchin again and how his relationship to big oil has set the course of US policy on climate. In light of this we discuss a BBC documentary series called 'Big Oil vs the World' which looks at the history of big oil companies using their influence in politics, science and the media to deny, cast doubt on and delay action against climate change over the past 50 years. We then reflect on the positives we can take and how recent and historic events could be viewed in the context of long term impact investing.
