Tone Doesn’t Reflect the Seriousness of the Subject
The preview for this podcast indicates that this podcast will take a very nonchalant, comedic approach to its story telling. As a recovering evangelical, that makes it a very hard listen. These evangelical leaders use shame, often sexual shame, to manipulate, control, and ultimately destroy their parishioners. Then, we find out that that don’t even apply their rigid morality to themselves. I can’t laugh about that. It’s important reporting, but the approach doesn’t convey the nature of this fraud they’ve perpetrated on America.
