IN HER LENS In Conversation: Hundefreund. Hundefreund (a.k.a. Dogfriend) is a German short film currently making waves in the film festival circuit. Get to know the director of the film in this in-depth interview, Maissa Lihedheb. Maissa is a German-Tunisian director and founder of the Berlin-based platform BIPoC Film Society. In part two of the conversation, Maissa opens up about some of her processes ahead of getting on set, Nadine and Maissa talk about the beast of imposter syndrome and how you have to allow yourself to learn. Maissa talks about the relationship between herself, the D.O.P. and the A.D. They touch on the film's development in the editing room, the current state of German film, and Maissa shares the professional and personal lesson’s she’s learned in the making of Hundefreund.  Hundefreund received its funding from the Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien (Federal Ministry of Art and Media of Germany) and is presented by BIPOC Film Society.
