How does he know all this?
Listening to Mark Galeotti informs and entertains at the and time. His use of the English language and his fluid mind keep the listener eager for the next word. He brings the inner workings of the Russian Federation to life in a way that no one else seems to be able to do. It’s as if he knows the people he is talking about. I find myself worrying a bit for his safety given that he is essentially letting another cat out of Putin’s bag every time he does a podcast. Maybe Putin secretly admires him, and needs someone as literate as Galeotti to act as his diarist. One day when the whole thing collapses it could be Galeotti writing the definitive account of the Rise and Fall of the Russian Federation. I will read it.

More reviews of In Moscow's Shadows
This exploration of Russia’s influence, in the context of the UK’s Russia Report is (as usual) very engaging, well informed and thought provoking.

Just collected a copy of Downfall from my local library on the Gold Coast Australia. Great read thus far, but what else would you expect from such a great mind on all things Russia. Regards, Kirwan.

You’d think that repeated monologues on Russia would run its course fairly quickly but I’m always impressed by how repeatedly thoughtful, insightful and interesting this podcast is. Thank you Mark for making these each week - long may it continue!
