Description
Today we’ll feel and experience Irvine followed by an interview with wonderful Biff Baker! Biff (Harold) Baker grew up in East Providence, Rhode Island, with a love for languages, literature, and places. His Ph.D. dissertation in Comparative Literature was on representations of landscape in narrative and painting. After twenty years in education including a stint teaching Russian at UCI, he joined ALEKS, a tech startup focused on developing an artificially intelligent online system for learning mathematics and other subjects. Biff's wife Marianna is an artist working in clay and fabric; his daughter Anna designs and produces experimental performances. Now partially retired, he looks forward to spending more time on social activism and community organizing, fiction writing, travel, and exploration. Biff will share with us what it feels like to live in Irvine! www.inthemoodforcalifornia.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/maria.korpacheva.3 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/inthemoodforcalifornia/ Twitter: @InTheMoodForCA
