Today we’ll feel and experience the artful spirit of Los Angeles followed by an interview with legendary Joan Agajanian Quinn!
Joan Agajanian Quinn, a Los Angeles native, is a journalist, curator, collector and arts advocate. She was appointed the West Coast Editor of Interview magazine by Andy Warhol, and was Society Editor of Hearst’s Los Angeles Herald Examiner. Joan, with late husband, attorney John J. Quinn, and twin daughters Jennifer & Amanda, has been a supporter of the arts for over 60 years; particularly Southern California Contemporary Art. She’s the creator, writer, producer, and host of The Joan Quinn Profiles. Quinn is a visionary who has inspired artists from all over the world to create her portrait. Among the noted artists who have photographed, painted, or sculpted her image are David Hockney, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Ed Ruscha, Ed Moses. She has over 300 portraits in her collection.
Quinn was the recipient of the 2017 Ellis Island Medal of Honor. She’s on the board of The California Film Commission, the California Arts Council, Cedars Sinai Hospital Arts Council and Trustee of the Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA).
