Description
Ryan Early is an actor. Best known for his roles as PC Tom Nicholson in Heartbeat, as regular character Dan in BBC series Almost Never and as Lee Bryce in The Archers. Additional credits include Grantchester, The Crown, Knightfall and Radio 4. As well as recently playing the angst-driven husband, Laurence, in Abigail’s Party at The Park Theatre.
The title of this episode comes from one fantastic section in this podcast where Ryan goes through three ‘sentences’ that he learnt from his time at Drama Centre and still uses in his work today. You’ll get more from this one part of the podcast than you will from an entire book on acting theory.
Ryan is a great example of a brilliant ‘working actor’. Someone who has found consistency in his career, as evidenced by his credits across every medium you can think of; they are like clockwork since he graduated from Drama Centre. We talk about everything from radio drama and networking, soap opera dayplayer roles and Ryan’s approach to his work. Oh, and eight-year-old Ryan’s critique of his older brother’s performance in ‘Little Red Riding Hood’.
