Indie pop?
Gotta say, I don’t usually review podcasts but since you can only contact these guys on Twitter I’ll just leave it here I guess.. “indie pop” is oxymoronic and while these guys constantly try to overcompensate and pay lip service to “wokeness”, it’s kind of hilarious they haven’t addressed Thundercat or other groups which actually make a point to challenge music but also use live instruments. If I have to hear more time spent on Lana Del Ray I’m tapping out.. Bibio, Lemolo, A7pha.. there’s plenty of actual independent music which isn’t even in these guys’ radar, but will sing the praises of the most generic radio rock and/or roll.. I don’t get it.

Great podcast! Kind of what I’d hoped the pitchfork podcast would be but cooler and less self important. Really fun listen!

Two hosts passionate about great music. Both fun and interesting. Recent introduction of sharing messages from listeners and recommendations have made the show even better.

I’ve been reading both Ian and Steven for years, and now with their show it’s a nice chance to hear some perspective on music I’m already listening to, and also find some new stuff to enjoy!
