“My Great, Great Grand-Uncle was Samuel Beach Axtell, the territorial governor before Lew Wallace.
Governor Axtell went down to Lincoln to address the unrest and signed a proclamation declaring such which I thought I saw when my family visited Lincoln when I was a kid.
What the citizens didn’t know was Governor Axtell had a loan (something like $500, I can’t remember) from the the District Prosecutor for that area, Rynerson.
I got some of this info when I was looking up family information from UNM library in a sub department in Zimmerman library.”
