Even though neither of them are middle aged, and "crisis" might connote something more dire than what's actually in view. OK, so maybe it is neither the ONLY thing it can be termed nor the most accurate. But nonetheless, here it is. The news that Star Wars The Force Awakens is not based on a story from George Lucas sent Josh and Nic into a sprial of ambivalence and sadness that they nearly didn't return from.
