“Decent start but could be better. Comes off like too much of a commercial for the show. Would be better to temper the tone a bit…less bombasticism and a more even-mannered approach would help. Think about the TV show—there is some humor but the tenor of the show leans more toward serious, intellectual, and witty, whereas the podcast feels more like a kid’s show with everyone smiling and artificially excitable. It may also be useful to break the podcast into segments to keep things on track. Like you have three separate “acts” on Jeopardy, I think the podcast could be structured similarly: weekly recap, interview with insider, listener questions/future planning (or something to that effect). I say all this as someone who has been a diehard Jeopardy fan for 30 years. I welcome the new podcast and like it—just want to see it reach its best potential.”
