“ITM is an upbeat, consistantly high-quality podcast that I always make time for. Ricky stays on-topic and covers many of the "behind the scenes" aspects that us Disney geeks live for. As an example, he recently covered what it was like when he competed in a Disney Imagineering college contest where he had to design a ride, create an associated story, and eventually travel to present it to the Imagineers themselves as a finalist.
The show is produced well and has fairly consistent volume levels which, as you probably know, can be an issue for many podcasts. The show is not scripted, but has relatively few mistakes, none of which I've found annoying in the least.
Occasionally, there will be a special guest which is fun. A regular guest is "Skipper Ben" who I think is fairly entertaining and provides a bit of input from someone who actually worked in the park (on the Jungle Cruise). His segments are recorded separately, so the volume levels can vary quite a bit, but it's generally pretty well done.
As for Ricky himself, he speaks clearly and positively. Some people get the idea that he's "got a chip on his shoulder" but I don't feel that way at all. I do think that some comments, which might be taken as highly opinionated, are largely due to the non-scripted nature of the show. Overall, after listening to over 20 hours of Ricky talking so far, I feel that he's being geniune and truly enjoys talking about Disney stuff.
I don't have a ton of time to listen to podcasts due to my short commute to work, so I truly appreciate ITM's true Disney focus with very little banter (or "babbling" as some other shows call it) about non-related things. I feel that ITM is one of the best 70-ish minutes I spend each week listening to podcasts.”
