Description
Self-Care Reform: How to Discover Your Own Path to Good Health with guest, Rusty Gregory Rusty has served in the fitness industry for the last 25 years as a personal fitness trainer and for the last five years as a wellness coach. He recently wrote a book and supplemental journal, Self-Care Reform: How to Discover Your Own Path to Good Health, addressing the issue of helping people start and sustain their own personal wellness program. He has used his own experience as a trainer and my training as a wellness coach to formulate a program that meets the need of moving people towards healthy lifestyle behaviors. Also, he has written a second book, Living Wheat-Free For Dummies that was published six weeks ago. We’ve been told for decades that eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly, managing our stress, getting enough sleep, and stopping smoking is prudent preventative health care, and it is. But, it hasn’t worked! We’re sicker, fatter, and more stressed and sleep deprived than ever before; not to mention soaring healthcare costs. Why? Because many times there is disconnect from the health information we receive and our desire to take action. Believing we should take action, but don’t, only leads to ambivalence and prolonged inaction. This is where Rusty's program (book/journal) steps in. It bridges the gap between information and action. It addresses the ambivalence that can paralyse our will to take action with our health with its create-your-own style program. It doesn't take the place of an existing wellness program, it reinforces it.
