“Oh lord, their voices. I couldn’t even get through 10 minutes. There’s been a lot said, written, and speculated about lately on the topic of vocal fry and why women, particularly middle class to wealthy white women, speak in this manner. If you, like me, are firmly in the camp of “can’t stand it, don’t want it, get it away from me” then this is not the show for you. They may be clever or insightful, or anything really. No idea because their speech is just so jarring. Just hearing their voices in the commercials that interrupt the wonderful voices of the women on Tumanbay and 7th Daughter is enough to make me feel agitated now. Truly yuck.”
