Hit or miss
Usually good but depends on the episodes some of the guests have no clue (see this week personal finance episode) Don’t waste your time if Simon T. is talking as it’s mostly about speculating on AIM shares without which are propped up by his articles thanks to the low volume. He often calls himself a value investor but I’m not really sure he’s doing some actual calculation on the intrinsic value. Recently Phil Oakley is been talking and these episodes are the best. The guy is clearly really good so it’s well worth listening to him. He thinks critically and he’s very careful about what you pay for a business. Long story short ignore the ones on macro 💩 , the ones where the guests tries to five an opinion on what’s going to happen to “the market” in the next year and the one where Simon tells the story of these amazing AIM small caps which are probably overpriced unless you ignore John Burr Williams’s definition of investment value.

I used to look forward to this podcast, it was like listening to wise engaging friends. It now drags along like daytime television.

I love Phil Oakley presenting he has a very logical approach to investing. He comes across very well and always fully justify his opinions! It has led me to purchase the magazine on a regular basis - good job! NC
