I enjoyed it but problematic in parts
I really liked the relaxed tone of this podcast and the music and a lot of the topics it covers. However I felt like this podcast, especially in season 1, was a bit blind to Kayla’s problematic and at times abusive behavior in the relationship and this one-sided view took away from the story a bit for me. There are a few times when Kayla hits her boyfriend or calls him fat and these instances are glossed over or made light of in the podcast. I felt like I would have liked it more if the podcast acknowledged that even though her behavior was problematic at times, this of course doesn’t excuse Mr. Wannabe’s behavior. The way it came across to me was too one-sided and it made it seem like the podcast believes that women aren’t abusive to men, which isn’t true. Also sometimes the way that events are described in the podcast make the podcast hard to follow. Sometimes stories are told very vaguely.
