Slow but worth the commitment
It took a little while, but this story has really grown on me. I have loved all of the other Night Vale presents podcasts so far, but I had a hard time with the first few episodes of It Makes a Sound because like many reviewers I loved the premise but wanted things to move along a bit faster. This hype of an unknown musical genius takes some getting used to, but the legend is crafted so that listeners can’t help but get invested in the rediscovery of an unknown artist from an off-the-map suburban town. If you can make it through the first few episodes, you will become immersed in the small wonders of this small town, and discover the extraordinary beauty that can be found in painfully ordinary places.

So glad I stuck with it past the first couple episodes. Really impressed with how the scenes are set. I can really imagine what’s happening.

I love this podcast so far. The tension is built by a host that might just be crazy and is walking some nightmare precipice of positivity that has to end badly. The second voice's more traditional scary weirdness is actually a break from the building suspense.Read full review »
