“I came across this podcast at the start of the hot weather here in Florida (i.e., March) and it was the perfect solution to help uplift my Autumnal soul. I started listening for the Halloween history episodes but quickly grew to enjoy the small frights episodes, which are more frequent, community-oriented, and focus on our modern Halloween culture and experience—effectively documenting that history as it happens. I have seen a handful of reviews that complain about Lucé’s personal opinions on the podcast. Frankly, I don’t agree with her on everything (LGBTQIA+ rights and recognition - fully onboard; anti-capitalist - not so much), but—and I know this is a hot take for some of you—believe it or not, it is not just OK but in fact healthy to expose yourself to viewpoints that may differ from your own. I have always found Lucé to come from a place of love, inclusiveness, and community first and foremost and I would hope these are traits we should all aspire to embody. Please don’t let those naysayers spoil your enjoyment of this podcast and the amazing community that she has created in such a short time. We may just be starting to see a hint of Fall here in Florida, but what does that matter? After all, it’s *always* Halloween!”
