“While I like the content of the podcast (focussing more on British tennis than some of the bigger podcasts), today was my final listen. The podcast is desperately in need of a more diverse presenting team. Anna Smith was a great, but sadly too brief, addition. The presenters are the textbook image of white male privileged mansplainers- they can’t seem to understand that nobody fully understands the lives experience of someone in a different gender, race or ethnicity, and resort to naïve comments that trivialise the experience of others and unmask their own lack of insight. George and James discussing the impact of periods on performance was a particularly great example, given they both managed to immaturely snigger and didn’t seem to recognise that what they were saying was so far off the mark of what the experience is like- moments like this jolt me and have made it an uncomfortable listen. Their inelegant description of what it might be like leaving your family in a country at war, and needing to still try concentrate on doing your job, demonstrated a lack of true empathy which personally I found depressing in journalists, and has led me to unfollow the podcast.”
