“I almost always try to listen to this pod. They have some great guests, but don’t always make full use of them. Dan is great at providing clarity and focus.
To improve, please don’t wander around the topic at hand. In JSJ549 I listened through the first 30 mins but had yet to determine how or why I’d use Qwik. At this point I bailed.
This may be because everyone in the pod already knows about the library or framework under discussion and can’t comprehend the position of a newbie like me. Not necessarily ideal.
Randal L Schwarz used to host FLOSS Weekly and his opening gambit was: “give me the 30,000 foot view; why would I want to use this product / library / tool?” In other words: the elevator pitch. He then asked the questions other users would ask from a position of ignorance. This worked. Well.”
