Miracle of Innocence supports retrials for incarcerated individuals and continuously provides care for the exonerated when they return back into society. State departments of corrections and reentry programs do not have adequate assistance when incarcerated people are freed. With community support, Miracle of Innocence is able to help provide these individuals with the following care services: habitation, identification, communication, transportation, occupation, mental health counseling, adult mentorship, food, and clothing.   When he was a teenager, Lamonte McIntyre was wrongfully convicted for a double homicide in Kansas City, Kansas.  He spent the years from 1994 until 2017, 23 years – in prison for a crime he did not commit.  Lamonte was exonerated with a certificate of innocence by the State of Kansas in 2017.  Roger Golubski, a Kansas City, Kansas police detective, was central to Lamonte’s conviction. Lamonte’s mother, Rosie, at one time also an employee of the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department and Lamonte filed a civil lawsuit against the Unified Government of Wyandotte County and that lawsuit was settled in 2022.  The lawsuit alleged that Roger Golubski sexually harassed Rosie and others and manufactured evidence against Rosie’s son, Lamonte, in retaliation for her rejection of Golubski’s advances. Still, during this time, Golubski was promoted to Captain and allowed to fully retire by the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department.  After his retirement in 2010, Roger Golubski went to work for the Edwardsville, Kansas Police Department. FINALLY, in September of 2022, Roger Golubski was indicted for federal charges including allegedly abusing his authority as a law enforcement officer, kidnapping, assaulting, raping.  In a separate case, Golubski is charged with aiding in the operation of a sex trafficking ring. This ring allegedly targeted several young women, including a minor.   Golubski has not yet spent a day in prison.  He is currently on house arrest.  His trial will open on December 2, 2024 at the Carlson Federal Courthouse in Topeka Kansas.  It is scheduled to be held three days each week until its end, which is anticipated to be in January, 2025.   We’ll play our calendar at the midpoint of the hour. More² will close our hour with an explanation of the rally they are planning for the trial of Roger Golubski.  Federal trials are open to the public.
