The troupe is playing into the ruse to impersonate The General and his retinue! After New Rogue volunteered them all to help rescue Angelina from the same scarecrows that had previously killed him and Del, the troupe tricked Nicholas Church into getting them their usual cockatrices. On the way to the farm, Shadow Nemesis flexed his newly discovered “Jester's Privilege” and acquired some new catchphrases, and Del and Tyler tried to strategize and get the party to co-operate with mixed results....

The troupe’s inability to keep quiet alerted a nearby militia force to their presence. New Rogue, Del and Tyler hid in the forest, only to be torn apart by demonic imps, and Shadow Nemesis was destroyed by The Grave Walker, even after giving up his friends. Awakening once more at the start of the same day, the group was ready to apply what they’d learned, so they proceeded to kill the green skinned general, revive him, then kill him again. With the rest of the troupe having safely surrendered, Shadow Nemesis was chased by cockatrices and immediately pecked to death. New Rogue was too depleted to revive him, and Tyler was convinced by Ezra to wait and see if the day reset again, so when Del tried to summon Werner, the ghost of Shadow Nemesis joined them instead. As the troupe faced seven elderly gnomes, Shadow Nemesis began to rage and the fight began. Tyler immediately backed away, hands up, bowing out of the fight, Del followed Tyler’s lead, declaring they weren’t with Shadow Nemesis, and New Rogue tried to magically calm the villagers, but when he couldn’t calm them all, he too surrendered. Tyler and Del tried to force Shadow Nemesis to back down, but it was ultimately New Rogue who succeeded in commanding him to stop. The Doctor Deputy died...

After failing to hold onto Guy Bradford through the pull of the mists, Tyler passed through alone to rejoin Wet Change. The troupe witnessed events repeating themselves and started to learn the rules of this new domain. Del deduced that the only ghosts in the realm were those who had died that day, New Rogue revivified the orc that had died from an allergy attack, and Shadow Nemesis experimented with the rules by stealing from and kicking a corpse, which once again led to him being set upon...

The troupe found themselves unexpectedly in a fight for their lives. New Rogue noticed that the scarecrows had disappeared from the nearby field, and just as Del realized that Rumpleforeskin and the cockatrices were frozen, they were set upon by the straw-stuffed beings and eventually cut down. Meanwhile, Shadow Nemesis fought an entire village of gnomes seeking vengeance against him, and even as he defeated some, more appeared, and he too was brought down. Ignorant of the happenings inside the blacksmith’s shop, New Rogue received a special amulet from the Watchers, and Del received a hand mirror through which she could speak with Lucretia. Meanwhile, Shadow Nemesis shot and stabbed the blacksmith to death, and then—after talking it over with Shadow Master—ate the brain, threw the body into the forge, and decided that if there were no consequences, then the murder wouldn’t really count. With Tyler still missing, the rest of Wet Change entered a pastoral town, where the townsfolk were waiting to see whose side the General would choose in an upcoming battle.
