Idk how to put this but…
This is the best podcast of all time! I mean, this is the only podcast I listen to, if that’s saying anything. I never could personally get into any, but this particular show came to me at the right time in the right place and I’ve been hooked ever since. My first episode was the Slow Train Coming one with Sam France. I was immediately struck with the sense of humor, and also how open the two hosts were to embracing this particular side of Dylan. I also just felt really connected in a weird, spiritual way because once in high school I wrote a parody of the song Jokerman, and I had actually just come around to appreciating the song Jokerman as the masterpiece that it is, in my own personal life. All niche fandom aside, though, Evan and Ian keep it on the level when discussing Bob. They Stan the right amount, without making a show that’s boring icon worship, or some unnecessary putdown of Bob’s later material. It’s informative, but always feels casual. They know how to poke fun, analyze, and Evan does some pretty good impressions, too. Some are actually incredible (Wallace Shawn). And as someone who considers themselves a pretty avid Dylan fan, this show’s introduced me to all kinds of gems I never knew about, or even considered checking out. All in all, this a super fun podcast, with cool guests too and big laffs. This is my second time writing a review because my first one didn’t post, but here’s to the Renaldo and Clara ep!

I’ve been an avid Dylan fan for many years and thought I new a lot about the man. Turns out there’s a lot I didn’t know! Ian and Evan’s chemistry is contagious. If you aren’t a Dylan fan now, you will be after listening to this podcast.

These guys are great companions for a deep dive into Dylan's discography, especially his less discussed work...the 80s. Nice to listen and laugh along to some unapologetic Dylan nerds!Read full review »
