My weekly driving companion
Scott’s podcast is a pretty good mixes of voices from average people trying to get by and some expert guest speakers. His basic lessons for dealing with diabetes seem to be: “Get the technological tools you need to know where you are at all of the time, and to predict more accurately.” “Treat whatever your number is at and don’t worry that you didn’t get it right earlier,” and to “Be bold with insulin and set your targets in a normal range” That said, I don’t have the technology and don’t relate to “basal rates” or “double arrows down” He also allows his daughter to eat what she wants, whereas I prefer not to have to correct a lot so I eat lower carb. Scott’s voice is strong and his approach is lighthearted but determined. And from what he reports, his daughter is doing all right with care in a fairly normal range, and is active and social. All very admirable accomplishments for anyone who has to deal with this every hour, forever.

In a world where I know that so many people are impacted by this disease,...Read full review »
