Excellent podcast with one exception...
First and foremost, Jessica and Alyssa know this show. Their commentary is simultaneously insightful and oftentimes quite hilarious. Listening to them discuss the show has me itching to rewatch the series, and it’s great that someone is dedicating time to this under appreciated Netflix gem. The podcast has a great structure, and doesn’t feel cluttered by too many voices. I do agree with other reviews in that I wished they had read the books, but that’s more for the additional exploration of the differences between the show and books, as opposed to any lack of insight into the show itself. My main issue with the podcast would be the continued discussion of every mistake a white male is currently making in our culture. It’s rare that a podcast does not open with the discussion of yet another terrible thing a white male has done or is currently doing in wider society. I understand the occasional interest in a topical subject, but week after week it begins to wear on me. The talk also filters in discussing the show, where again, it can become wearing, especially considering the show features nothing but powerful white men. Again, it’s not a bad podcast, both hosts are hilarious, coherent and insightful, but the political commentary could be trimmed.

Are these my favorite podcasters on earth? No. But, they’re definitely not my least my favorite. Thoroughly enjoyed rewatching the show alongside these two. I respect anyone who would openly admit being attracted to Ubba.
