The road trip example you gave toward the end of the episode which highlight the possibility of Facebook target a user through the friends network connection can also be achieved using Bluetooth tracking. Bluetooth constantly scan nearby device in Certain mode ( the same way Apple/Google exposure system works), and by knowing your Bluetooth identifier and associate it with your Facebook account, Facebook knows who are you with in a certain time. This can happen even if you are not friend with someone. This might not be as accurate but i recall has been reported as another way Facebook use/used to track user.”
