Actually, maybe there’s more to the discussion...
I’m a 58-year-old follower of Christ. My two best friends have both gone to be with the Lord. My wife tells me I don’t have any friends and that I should make a concerted effort to find, at least, one.
Well, for me, finding someone who shares my interests is somewhat problematic.
I love the Lord. My best friends should love the Lord.
I love the Bible, My best friends should as well.
I’m a black man who doesn’t believe my “race” is my most important designation because — as you might infer by my use of quotes around the word “race” — I don’t even believe “race” is a biblical designation for humankind.
I’m a conservative, politically and theologically.
I’m reformed theologically and consider reformed theology as nothing more than orthodox biblical theology.
In the early 90’s I as a student Dallas Theological Seminary. (But I dropped out after successfully completing three of the four year ThM program. It’s a long story...)
I love John MacArthur’s preaching/teaching.
I’m a black man who voted for Trump and will do so again, Lord willing.
Where can I find a FRIEND who shares my love for the Lord and my love for biblical exegesis? Where can I find a FRIEND who shares my atypical cultural stance on politics?
Well, I found TWO friends on the Just Thinking podcast.
Darrell and Virgil (“Omaha”), you two have been designated as my two new best friends! Thank you, besties, for your biblically astute, frank, provocative, candid, substantive and often hilarious discussions on things that matter!
Keep up the good work, my friends. May God continue to bless you with the robust energy you need to carry on this good work!
Grace and Peace,
