Right from school days, he had a keen interest in drama writing, writing poems in both Tulu as well as in Kannada that continues to date. He has written 20 dramas, he received Karnataka Sahitya Academy Award for his drama " Bojja", which was later filmed by director Mr. P.N. Ramchandra, produced by Marnad brothers as "Suddha" in the year 2002, and acclaimed 7 National awards. In this episode of Kaavya with Bhawana Somaaya, Narayan talks about his humble beginings, his journey from home town in Karnataka to Bombay and also shares why Tulu is such rarely used language.
